Web design & UI/UX
A stranger should understand what you do, and why it matters, within a few seconds of landing. I design every page around one question: what should this visitor do next?
What’s included
A plain list of what the project involves, so you can see where the time and money go.
I settle what each page needs to say, in what order and to whom, before choosing a single colour.
Type scale, colour roles, spacing and components. New pages follow the same rules, so you don’t pay to reinvent them each time.
I design at 340px and work upward, so the version most visitors see is the one that gets the most care.
Contrast ratios that pass, visible focus, keyboard navigation and a logical heading order, all checked as the design is made.
Reveals, parallax and small interactions that direct attention, and that switch off entirely for anyone who has asked their device for reduced motion.
Logo, marks and applications when the project needs them, drawn to hold up in embroidery, print and a 16px favicon.
Process
Who has to be convinced, what they already believe and what would make them act. This is where conversion is decided.
Layout and copy direction in greyscale. Cheap to change, and weak arguments show up before they get expensive.
Full visual design of the key templates, with the system documented so the rest of the site follows without you paying for each page.
Design files, tokens and specs, or straight into the build if I’m building it too.
The difference
| The usual | This way | |
|---|---|---|
| Starting point | A template you liked | What the page must achieve |
| Mobile | Squeezed down afterwards | Designed there first |
| Consistency | Page by page | One system, applied |
| Accessibility | Checked at the end | Built into the palette |
| New pages | Redesign each time | Assemble from the system |

Questions
Yes. You get the design system, templates and specs, and any competent developer can build from them. Most clients ask me to do both, because quality tends to leak at the handover.
One, developed fully. Three shallow directions ask you to do the deciding. I’d rather understand the problem well enough to make the call, then refine it with you.
Yes. Colours, fonts and marks are inputs. If something in the brand works against the site, I’ll say so and suggest the smallest change that fixes it.
I give you the structure, the message and the length for each section, and I edit what you write. Full copywriting can be quoted separately.
Yes. Identity, logos, menus and printed material are part of the portfolio: six of the twenty cases are identity work.
